Students were inspired by the variety of creative pieces on show. Those selected to attend were selected for their efforts in Art.

An Art Department reward trip saw 54 students in Years 7-9 selected to attend a visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield.

There they were able to explore the park and document the wide variety of both indoor and outdoor sculptures and artwork by completing written tasks, making sketches and taking photographs of the many exhibits.

Students were inspired by the range of materials used to create artwork from the traditional bronze, stone and wood to the less expected fabric, paper, thread and string. They were also impressed by the stunning exhibits of comtemporary art, crafts and jewellery on display. All returned with plenty of ideas for their own work.
