Our staff and students have taken part in a moving tribute to the many servicemen and women who lost their lives in conflict.

As part of the service, our Headteacher remembered all service men and women, but paid particular tribute to those former King James students who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Academy observed a one-minute silence following an emotional delivery of "The Last Post', which was played by RE Teacher, Mr Middleton. PCSO Quinn and PCSO Proudlock also contributed to the service by laying a poppy wreath at the foot of the memorial, whilst our Year 11 Head Boy and Girl and student representatives from other year groups paid their respect by placing a number of commemorative crosses next to the memorial.

The remembrance service helps young people of King James understand the tragedies of war and the effects of conflict on communities, and ensures that all of our soldiers are remembered and honoured for the freedom they have given us.
