Fifteen students in Years 7 and 8, accompanied by Mr Laybourn, have returned from a fantastic fundraising event at Old Trafford, which saw music and football unite in one of the most iconic stadiums in the UK. The "Manchester Legends Game' raised funds which will go towards Manchester United Foundation's work in the community.

Our student group joined the crowds who flooded in to enjoy a pre-match music concert on the pitch with X Factor stars Ben Haenow, Union J and Ella Eyre, before watching Manchester United Legends take a 4-2 victory over Bayern Munich Allstars.

"It was a fantastic day,' said Mr Laybourn. "The atmosphere in the stadium was excellent and the group really enjoyed the whole experience. Watching footballing greats like Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Paul Scholes and Edwin van der Sar play under the legendary captain, Bryan Robson was a real treat. The group are all huge football fans but the opportunity to enjoy the concert before the match made the trip even more memorable."
