On Wednesday 11th December 2013, the Under 16's District Badminton Tournament took place at Greenfield School. Teams from all over the district entered the competition, with teams entering from Ferryhill, St. Johns, Sunnydale, Sedgefield, Parkside, Greenfield, Sunnydale, King James I Academy and Wolsingham. The competition was split into two groups, each with four teams where the boys were required to compete in both singles and doubles events.

Congratulations to Jacob H, Callum H, Ryan H and Daniel P, all of which are in Year 11 who represented our School. The boys played some outstanding Badminton which resulted in them winning their group. Unfortunately only one team from our district can go through to the County finals and like their Under 14 counterparts they were forced into a play-off with Wolsingham where they were narrowly beaten. Even still it was an amazing effort by all those involved.
