Each year, Sixth Form students in our Media Department raise money for a charity of their choice by selling 'Christmas Greetings' to students and staff; these are then displayed on the walls of our main corridor. This year however, the money raised was used to buy toys for the Angel Trust Toy Appeal and staff were keen to boost the donation further with additional gifts.

The Angel Trust is a local charity that works extremely hard throughout the year to support Bishop Auckland families in a variety of ways. Christmas is one of their busiest times of the year, and even more so in the midst of a global pandemic, and our students were delighted to be able to support the charity in this way, knowing that their efforts would have a positive impact on local children and young people.

With the help of our site team, students delivered our donation to the Angel Trust headquarters in the town centre just in time for sorting into appropriate age categories and wrapping. They were given a guided tour of the offices to see the many presents ready and waiting for delivery to residential homes, local hostels and children in hospital wards.

On seeing the mammoth delivery task ahead, Jonathan and John from our site team also volunteered to help with distribution to hospitals using our school mini bus, help which was gratefully recieved.
