The group visited York St, Johns University before travelling to Leeds.

A group of 12 Sixth Form students have recently visited York St John’s and Leeds Beckett Universities as part of our ‘Aim Higher’ programme.

At both universities students heard from a Student Ambassador who talked openly about university life, student finance and the UCAS application process; they also took a tour of each campus and spent a little time exploring the city.

The group spent the day in York but stayed overnight in Kirkstall Brewery Halls of Residence to experience the accommodation. In the evening, students had dinner at Nando’s then went to the Hollywood Bowl before visiting Leeds Beckett the following day.

Year 12 Sports students also visited Leeds Beckett earlier in the month as part of our Aim Higher programme to investigate the range of sport-related degree courses on offer.

Ain Higher is designed to help students make decisions about degree courses well before the time to apply presents itself in Year 13. Our Sixth Form Team organises a calendar of visits throughout the year to a wide variety of universities across the UK including Liverpool, Manchester, Northumbria, Cumbria, Teesside and Edinburgh.
