As football season begins, members of our newly launched Stadium Sports Academy Football Team are celebrating victory in a match against Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College in Darlington.

The team demonstrated excellent form and technique throughout the match to claim a 4-3 victory with Jack Mortimer scoring a hat trick and Mitchell Simmons scoring the fourth goal.

Working in partnership with SAFC Foundation of Light, our Sixth Form students benefit from specialist coaching and training opportunities as part of their Cambridge Technical course, which will see them graduate with a professional qualification equivalent to three A'Levels.

Kim O'Connor, Director of Learning for PE and Sport at King James said, "This win has got us off to excellent start; this cohort shows a great deal of raw talent and they will only improve with focused training and coaching sessions. I am sure we can look forward to many more victories in the coming weeks."

Sports Academy members have now received their elite uniform and sports kit, which they will wear in lessons and in football matches as they represent King James.

The course at King James is not only designed for those with a passion for football; scholarships also include specialist routes in Coaching and Fitness which will lead to excellent job prospects in the Leisure and Fitness industry.
