King James is a hive of fundraising activity as Christmas approaches, and both students and staff are keen to help their community in many ways.

Our Christmas message wall gives everyone at King James the opportunity to spread a little festive cheer by purchasing a personalised Christmas greeting for £1.00. The wall is co-ordinated by Sixth Form Media students who are also busy selling raffle tickets for our "Festive Chocolate Bouquet'. All money raised from these activities will be donated to the "If U Care, Share Foundation', a local charity, chosen by our Year 10 students, that works hard to prevent suicide in young people, and to support families who have been affected by it.

Our Student Welfare Office and Academy Council have been working hard to support the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, and finally, donations of groceries are also being collected for our local Foodbank at Woodhouse Close. This will benefit many of our local residents and help to make sure that no family goes without this Christmas.

Of course, we must not forget the many fundraising activities that have already taken place since September. From bake sales to coffee mornings, sponsored walks to poppy sales, our students are real community champions. We would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to announcing the grand fundraising total for this term on December 16th.
