With only eight days to go until they set off on their journey, the Glastonbury Volunteer Team are making their final preparations and testing the tents that they will call home for five nights.

There is a sense of excitement in the air as the team gather equipment and prepare themselves for one of the best experiences of their lives. There has been a lot of effort invested into the project, and it is almost time to reap the rewards.

For months, the team has been fundraising valiantly through a variety of methods. The fundraising goes towards the Glastonbury charities, including Oxfam, WaterAid and Greenpeace, as well as leaving a £500 legacy for next year's trip. The funds have been raised through a variety of events such as a sponsored silence, sponsored walk, a weigh-in for old clothing, various raffles and a superhero event for International Comic Book Day. The experience has brought the team together and they are proud of their achievements.

The almost 10 hour journey down to Somerset will be well worth it, as an array of headline acts including Kanye West and The Who await them once they have completed their daily litter-picking shift. The festival is attended by over one hundred thousand people each year, making it one of the most popular in the world. To have the unique opportunity to attend and gain this life experience has been a journey that won't be forgotten.
