Linda Dixon, our Academy Support Worker, who was nominated by over 20 of our Sixth Form students to receive an award, has reached the final of the North East Schools Awards, which celebrates excellence in education. Linda is one of three finalists in the category of "School Support Staff of the Year'.

The annual campaign, which is a joint venture between The Journal and The Evening Gazette, highlights the fantastic work that is taking place in our local schools; it also recognises those who make it all possible.

Linda is well known in our Academy by students in all year groups for the excellent level of care she gives to support student attendance, achievement and personal wellbeing. She is particularly well known by our Sixth Formers, for whom she is always available. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony, hosted by Radio breakfast show presenter Anna Foster, at Ramside Hall in Durham on July 8th. Good luck Linda.
