King James is celebrating our students' success at both GCSE and A-Level with results this year that are the best yet.

At GCSE level, 98.2% of our students have achieved at least 5 or more A* to C grades and 95.5% have gained this standard across 8 or more subjects. A 5% increase on last year's 5 A* to C (including English and Mathematics) figure reflects the significant progress and improvement our young people are helping us to achieve, and these excellent results will, once again, place King James I Academy amongst the top schools in the country in relation to the value added to students' achievements.

Notable successes this year include the following students, although it is recognised that it is the achievement of all students and the support of their families which has made this such a memorable year:

- Kara Munro (Head Girl) has achieved 6 A*'s, 8 A's and 4 B's (18 GCSE A* to B)

- Katie Hope has achieved 8 A*s, 4 A's and 7 B's (17 GCSE A* to B)

- Megan Baker 9 A*'s , 3 A's and 5 B's (17 GCSEs A* to B)

- Olga Kolesnikova 9 A*'s, 2 A's and 4 B's (15 GCSEs A* to B)

- Lloyd Abbs 6 A*'s, 2 A's and 5 B's (13 GCSEs A* to B)

- Daniel Scott 9 A's and 5 B's (14 GCSEs A* to B)

In Sixth Form, we are celebrating a 100% pass rate and 93.1% of students achieving 2 or more A-Levels. The average points score per candidate at King James is now an impressive 637 points and, thanks to the personalised support on offer, all students who wished to progress on to Higher Education have secured a place in the University of their choice.

Headteacher, Nick Grieveson said: "As we look forward to the rebuilding and redevelopment of King James our focus continues to be upon helping young people to succeed and to be prepared for their future. This year's results confirm our commitment to ensuring that our students are well placed to continue to achieve success and happiness in their later lives".
