KJ Linked - Weekly Learning Toolkit

29/06/2020 - KJ Linked Issue 13 released!

As you will have seen, the Government is encouraging secondary schools to consider a partial return for Year 10 and Year 12 students from Monday 1st June 2020. Our view continues to be that it is important that we take appropriate, extensive and considered actions to assure the safety of all members of our school community to make the right decision at the right time.

The Young Americans @ King James 2020

April 2019

I am delighted to be able to tell you that we have been successful in securing the talented Young Americans as part of their Spring Tour here at King James I Academy from the 3rd-5th February 2020.

The Young Americans are a group of 25 American students aged between 18-22 years who are studying Performing Arts at specialist colleges across America. They will be coming into King James to lead specialist workshops in Dance, Drama and Music. The workshops will culminate with a fantastic performance on the final evening (Tuesday 4th February 2020) involving the Young Americans and pupils from year 8 as well as King James Drama club students.

Absolutely no experience or specialist skill is necessary for these workshops and performance. Programmes like Glee, X Factor and The Voice have dominated our television screens in the UK for the past 10 years and we feel that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for your child to be part of an event of this nature. As well as preparing your child towards a final performance, the Young Americans will successfully teach us the importance of Creative and Performing Arts within our community as well as show our pupils how to grow in confidence, self-esteem and self-worth.
