Following much anticipation, phase one of our school development is complete and our new building is fully functional. Students are now enjoying our purpose-built classrooms, new style dining and seminar areas, and superb sports facilities.

The light and airy interior of the building benefits from colour coded zones to provide defined educational wings for Science, Maths, Humanities, Technology, Sport and Drama and Performing Arts. The building also accommodates our new library, versatile main hall and open plan dining area. This gives subject areas an identity and makes navigating around the building extremely easy for students and the many community visitors who share our facilities each evening and at the weekend. Sixth Form students have also settled into a much larger, dedicated Sixth Form zone as part of phase one, with improved facilities for both private study and socializing.

Phase two, which focuses on the refurbishment of Middle School is now well underway; this building will house our English, Business Studies, ICT, Health and Social Care and Music departments. This refurbishment programme is on schedule for completion by May Half Term and the process of moving into these new classrooms will take place soon after. The final stage of Phase two will be the refurbishment of our old dinner hall and kitchens, which will be transformed into an inspirational hub for our Art department, featuring practical work zones, research areas and a convertible gallery space.

The majority of the final phase, which involves the demolition of Upper School, landscaping works and the construction of our additional sports pitches, will take place during the summer holiday period to ensure that Sir Robert McAlpine can create a no access safe zone. This means that when our students return to school in September of this year, development work will be complete and we can focus on making the most of both our indoor and outdoor spaces.
