Outstanding Response for BATH Dance Show

The show featured a number of thought-provoking contemporary pieces including 'The Crucifixion', pictured here..

BATH performers have received an exceptional response to their recent Dance Show, entitled 'Proximo Passo' (The Next Step) with over 300 visitors attending the one-night-only evening show at King James.

The uplifting show featured 19 original pieces performed by students in Years 7-14, with a hugely diverse selection of styles on offer including Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Jamaican and Comedic dance. The show also incorporated a number of moving, issue-based group performances focusing on refugees and bullying, which were conceived by our Drama Teacher and founder of Bath, Stephen Elliott.

Ticket sales from the show helped to raise money for the Brazilliant Project 2017, which will fund a two-week visit to King James in July for five young Brazilians who are all members of BANHO, the Brazilian cohort of BATH. As part of this ongoing international project, 17 members of BATH will travel to Brazil during the Easter holidays to work with local school pupils on a variety of Dance and Drama related projects.
