Students in Years 9-13 have recently returned from an inspiring four day trip to Barcelona.

The students, who are currently studying Photography and Food Technology were given the chance to visit the beautiful Spanish city, during the famous "La Mercè Festival'. The trip allowed them to experience, explore and photograph the city which is renowned for its eclectic and eye-catching architecture alongside flavoursome "tapas style' cuisine.

Our annual trip to Barcelona is extremely popular as it provides students with the opportunity to discover a variety of cultures, scenery and tastes, as well as a chance to enjoy a few more days of late summer sunshine! Whilst in Barcelona, photography students collated extensive photographic and handwritten material that will help in the upcoming months building up to coursework, and Food Technology students were able to cook in authentic surroundings using local produce.

The trip included visits to many globally renowned Barcelona landmarks; the photography students were in their element when experiencing the "Sagrada Familia' and its intricate architecture, "Camp Nou', the home base for one of Spain's most popular football teams, Barcelona FC, and the "Mercat de La Boqueria' in the city centre where Food Technology students explored the many stalls offering local delicacies.

Brandon C, one of the Year 12 Photography students was amazed at how different the culture of Barcelona was around the city. He said, "Spanish people really take pride in their city. The streets are full of colourful and eye-catching architecture; the visit was really inspiring."
