Helping our local Food Bank charities

November 2021

Throughout the month of November we will be collecting non-perishable food items to help local families in need as Christmas approaches.

This year, we will be supporting two charities, West Auckland Food Bank and Feeding Families, which provides hampers of assorted groceries to families who make contact with them. We have set ourselves a goal to collect 1,000 items for donation; despite the pandemic, we succeeded in achieving this goal in 2020!

We are asking students and staff to bring any non-perishable items into school and place them in the collection boxes which are available in each tutor group room and in the Sixth Form Common Room. Suitable items include any dried food items such as pasta, rice, noodles, packet sauces, jelly or gravy granules; tinned food of any kind or food in jars such as jam, marmalade, sauces, pickles and chutney, juice, hot chocolate, tea bags and coffee, and any biscuits, crackers, chocolates, sweets and cakes with extended dates. We can also accept shampoo, soap and shower gel.

These items will make a real difference to families in and around Bishop Auckland and there is no better time to show your support. Thank you.
