This week we welcomed over 700 visitors to our annual Year 6 Open Evening where local families took part in guided tours and a range of fun activities.

This year, in a long awaited return to face-to-face events, our visitors were able to see the wide range of facilities on offer in all of our buildings and also outside for themselves. Youngsters enjoyed a wide range of activities from science experiments and creative crafts to linguistic challenges and trampoline! There were demonstrations in Food & Nutrition, complete with tasty food samples prepared by our own students, and a fantastic musical performance from Mr Smith and members of the Sixth Form band. Visitors also heard about our Chromebook scheme which ensures that all of our students have access to personal computer technology both at school and at home to help with their learning.

Visitors were hugely impressed by the high quality student work on display around the Academy and we received a great many compliments about our friendly staff and the army of student volunteers who represented King James with pride in each department.
