Issue 13 of KJ Linked - Keeping Our Community Connected

Hello and welcome to Issue 13 of KJ Linked.

This week, we have much to feel positive about as a nation. The UK recorded its lowest number of daily confirmed coronavirus cases since the lockdown began, and as a result, the Government was able to relax the rules about meeting people outside of our own household even more. For many of us that meant a cautious but very welcome reunion with grandparents, extended family and friends. Of course, we must still remember to follow social distancing and hygiene rules, but it is great to know that we are making progress.

This week at King James is 'Interactivity Week' and Key Stage 3 students in all year groups will be taking part in live virtual lessons using Google Meet to see and speak directly to their teachers and their peers. This is an exciting development for our young people as we work towards the wider reopening of our school. As usual, this issue has a number of ideas to entertain your family, from movie and music recommendations to sports and science challenges.

There is even a feature on favourite recipes submitted by our staff. Don’t forget to share your stories and photographs by emailing them to kingjames@kj1a.com with consent from a parent or carer to publish.

Until next week, stay productive and stay positive!
