Following weeks of preparation, our stage came alive with the sound of classic rock as our talented music students presented their own adaptation of the hit musical, Vampires Rock.

The production was organised by Year 13 students, Clyde and Sandra-Lee, alongside fellow music students, Beth H in Year 11 and Rihanna W and Chad B, both in Year 10. Students took responsibility for writing the script and organising the set, costumes, music, lighting and managing the budget for the show as part of their BTEC coursework.

Events management and aspects of the industry such as casting, organising rehearsals and promotion, among other things, are an extremely important part of our BTEC Music at both Level 2 and 3. Developing these skills, alongside those in performance, gives our students an excellent overview of the industry as a whole and the diverse range of roles available within it.

The result of their efforts was a vibrant and hugely successful evening of entertainment. Well done to all involved.
