Sixth Form Music students have produced their own 15-minute set for a festival setting. They rehearsed four songs, created mash-ups, composed their own song and developed lighting and set design for their performance, as well as developing their skills for live sound and PA systems.

The performance was met with great reviews and became the talked-about topic across the school. The students invested a great deal of time and effort into the production including developing ideas regarding lighting and costume. The songs consisted of regular hits including "Somewhere Only We Know' alongside a mash-up of Jessie J's "Price Tag' and Black Eyed Peas, "Where Is The Love'. Their own original song was also performed live as a debut for the band.

As part of the course, students visit recording studios across the region to record and edit their own performances. They also enjoy visits from professional musicians and benefit from working with teachers who are practitioners themselves.
