Students collected primary data on Seaham beach.

Last term, GCSE Geography students took a trip to Seaham coast to carry out data collection to fulfill the applied fieldwork enquiry aspect of their course.

The group studied coastal land forms and processes and discussed the formation of coastal features and how they have evolved. They also constructed a beach profile and gathered primary data for analysis back in school.

For a human geography study the group completed a tourism investigation and considered the factors involved in Seaham's development as a resort, such as the effects of recreational pressure on local employment, conflicting land use, the physical environment and traffic congestion.
