King James I Academy has been awarded the British Council's prestigious International School Award in recognition of our work to bring the world into the classroom.

The "International School Award' celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education. It recognises the benefits of providing young people with opportunities to gain the cultural understanding and skills they need for living and working in today's global society.

We do this in different ways, from organising trips to a variety of international destinations to welcoming international visitors into our school community. Previous international destinations have included Jamaica, Ghana, Brazil, USA, France, Norway, Belgium, Poland, Ireland and Spain.
