Students in Years 7 and 8, will soon be going on tour in schools around the county to raise awareness about Durham County Council's 20 Zone scheme.

Led by two Year 13 students, Bobby D and Amber D, students will be performing a devised theatrical piece to promote the new scheme, which will see 20mph zones introduced outside primary and secondary schools across the county, including King James. The scheme to reduce traffic speed will dramatically improve road safety for our school children, especially during drop-off and pick-up times, and our students are delighted to be involved in a project which could save lives.

Last term, the group performed the piece for the first time at Durham County Hall to an esteemed audience including the Mayor of Durham, Cllr Eddie Bell.. The acclaimed performance was also attended by members of the County Council's Road Safety Team, The Crime and Justice Board and a number of primary school pupils.
