Award winning professional children's author and animator, Niel Bushnell recently visited King James I Academy in Bishop Auckland for an exclusive meet and greet session at the school's Year 6 Open Evening.

This was not the first time that Mr Bushnell had visited the school; the author of the hugely successful novels, "Timesmith' and "Sorrowlines' had previously delivered a number of workshops for King James students who aspire to a career in writing.

There was a fantastic attendance at the event, with an abundance of local primary pupils and their families eager to meet the author and learn more about his books and extensive creative knowledge. King James strives to provide opportunities for the local community to share in experiences such as this and hopes that the chance to meet a professional author has inspired and encouraged young people to develop their skills in creative writing.
