COMING SOON! Artists in Residence

The artwork of James Paterson: Playing cards and Pin-ups.

Our Art Department will soon be welcoming two Artists in Residence, who will be working in our art studios to inspire and engage students.

We are excited about our first artist, Darlington-born James Paterson, who studied Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. James works primarily in oils and acrylics and his paintings, one of which is pictured right, are inspired by everyday objects, adverts and popular icons.

Our second professional artist is sculptor, Phil Townsend from Eggleston, who has a BA(Hons) in Three Dimensional Design. Phil designs outdoor sculptures in native hardwoods, stone and clay, pictured right, to ensure that his work sits easily with both the natural and man-made environment.
