We are all now enjoying lessons in the refurbished Agnew and Lockey Buildings and watching our landscaped areas take shape. This month, we will be celebrating the completion of phase two of our development at a Grand Opening event on Thursday 24th September.

Former pupil of King James, The Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Cllr Lee Brownson, will be returning to King James alongside a number of special guests, to join the celebrations, which coincide with our annual Year 6 Open Evening.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take a tour of the facilities in both the new building and in the listed former Middle School, which has been a local landmark for over 400 years. The building has now been sympathetically restored and fully modernised to preserve the traditional interior and exterior features that are familiar to so many local residents.
