Students in Years 8, 9 and 12 have recently enjoyed an overnight stay in Newcastle and a guided tour of Northumbria University campus as part of our 'Aim Higher' programme.

Mr Shearer's Aim Higher trips take place throughout the year and each includes an overnight stay, a tour of the university campus and an opportunity to explore the city that could become home for three years whilst studying for a degree.

In Newcastle, students stayed overnight in the halls and enjoyed a guided tour of the university campus, visiting the sports hall, library and Students Union buildings. Their guide for the day was former King James student, Ben Connell who is currently studying a Degree in Business Management at the university.

The group also explored the city during the evening, enjoyed a meal together at Pizza Hut and went to the cinema, before ending the trip the following day with a visit to Tynemouth beach.
