Pupils from St Andrews Primary School take part in a Geography taster session.

This month, we welcomed around 300 primary school pupils to our school as part of Curriculum Week. The fun-packed programme of learning activities is designed to give youngsters a taste of life at King James through a variety of typical taster sessions.

Pupils took part in a wide variety of sessions which were pre-selected by their own Head Teacher including Maths, Science, History, Geography, Media, Drama, Photography, Art, Food Technology, Sport and more. Students also enjoyed a tour of our new building and sports facilities, and sampled our lunchtime menu.

During the week students learned about probability in a Maths-based activity called the "Great Horse Race', developed their creative literacy skills by writing poems in English, learned to speak Spanish, made healthy pizzas in Food Technology, created their own comic book in Media, developed practical photography skills, worked together to set up tents in a mini Duke of Edinburgh session and enjoyed practical science experiments to test theories of dissolving using marshmallows! These were just a few of the learning activities on offer throughout the week.

We hope our guests enjoyed their visit to King James and look forward to meeting them again with their families at our annual Open Evening. More photos coming soon in our website gallery.
