This month, we welcomed over 300 visitors to our Academy Open Evening. Year 6 students from all of our local primary schools and their families took part in a range of activities including the Active Maths challenge, science experiments, robotic programming, Jamaican dance, music, art, football and trampolining.

Visitors were also able to take a tour of our new building, visit our library, talk to our student support team about our excellent transition summer school and sample a selection of dishes from our lunchtime menu.

The opportunity to be among the first to see our brand new building proved to be particularly popular, with places for all scheduled tours reserved before 5.30pm! Unfortunately, due to safety restrictions associated with an active construction site, numbers were strictly limited however, Mr Grieveson, our Headteacher, will be arranging further tours with Sir Robert McAlpine to accommodate those who missed out on the night.

We hope our guests enjoyed their visit and we look forward to welcoming them as Year 7 students at King James next year. Please see our website gallery for more photographs from the event.
