Last term, 11 students in Years 9-13 took the ABRSM Grade 1 Music Theory exam for the first time at King James and all passed with flying colours.

Students have been attending an after-school club with Mr Smith since September in preparation for the exam. He said, "Mr Heddle and I are extremely proud of all of the students. They have devoted their own time and energy to participate in this course and they are now celebrating their efforts. The achievement of the whole class is outstanding and it has given them all a great confidence boost as we begin working towards Grade 3."

The goal is for all of our Sixth Form Music students to achieve Grade 5 before leaving King James, at which point they will be eligible to claim UCAS points.
