The group enjoy a little sightseeing in the historic city of Chester.

A group of 15 students accompanied staff from our Sixth Form to Chester for a two night stay as part of our Aim Higher experience. The fifteen Year 11 students all aspire to move into higher education and part of the visit included a tour and talk at Chester University.

Current second and third year university students gave the group a guided tour of the campus and discussed halls of residence, UCAS applications, student finance and the many different societies and clubs available for students to join.

During the afternoon our students took a tour of Chester, it's historic sights and beautiful city centre before going out for an evening meal with former King James I Academy student, Katie Newton, who is now in her second year at Chester. Katie shared her thoughts on university life and our students agreed it was an excellent opportunity to talk to someone familiar about the transition process.
