With new recording facilities and rehearsal spaces on the way as part of our new development, students will be able to learn about commercial aspects of the music industry from performance techniques to sound engineering.

Mr Smith, our Director of Learning for Music, has a wealth of experience, both on stage and in recording studios as a professional musician. This, combined with his ability to play numerous instruments, means that he is well placed to help our young people achieve their dreams. This year, he will be joined by a new member of staff who is highly skilled and experienced in sound engineering and music technology. The combined commercial experience of this teaching team will make sure that our students are well prepared for a career in the industry.

As part of the long term plan, and to encourage participation in music, Mr Smith has invested in new guitars to use in lessons and at the recently-launched Guitar Club for beginners, a FREE lunchtime club for students who would like to learn to play. The club is open to all year groups and members are growing steadily. To find out more or to join, visit Mr Smith in the music room.
