Over 30 of our Year 9 students, accompanied by eight Year 11's, visited Northumbria University this month as part of our "Aim Higher' programme, which aims to inspire young people to progress on to higher education. This programme includes a number of trips each year to universities across the UK.

During the visit, students enjoyed a guided tour of the campus, including the excellent lecture theatres and new Sports and Business facilities, and stayed overnight in the halls of residence. They even got the opportunity to take part in a mock- court scenario in the fully-operational courtroom. A talk and guided tour of the Theatre Royal was also a feature of the trip alongside visits to the cinema and the Discovery Museum.
