Welcome to the latest issue of Vision, our Academy magazine.
It’s been another busy year for everyone at KJI, with many inspirational learning opportunities taking place in and out of the classroom, including educational visits both locally and internationally. This year, we will develop our international visits further following a successful funding bid which will allow even more students to travel.
Academically, we are once again delighted with students in Years 11 and 13 who have navigated their examinations fantastically well and achieved excellent results. For the second year running we have a student progressing to study at Oxford University, and we continue our track record of ensuring all Year 13s successfully move on to the next stage of their education or employment.
Students have received various awards, with several winners in the Bishop Auckland Town Council Youth Awards, and a winning team in the Future Business Magnates competition. Sports teams had another successful year and students also received recognition for Computing and STEM projects. KJI students have also raised significant sums of money for local charities too; for this we are immensely proud.
Our Primary Outreach programme is extremely successful and we were delighted to have seen so many youngsters enjoying Trampolining, Mini Medics, Art, hotography, Drama, Dance, Literacy and more. We look forward to seeing even more primary visitors this year, starting with our Year 6 Open Evening on Wednesday 18th September.
I would like to thank our parents and community for their ongoing support. We look forward to working with you this year as we continue to build on our successes.
Best wishes,
Simon Whitehead, Headteacher
