Students spent a week at Camp Wapsie with young Americans and enjoyed a variety of outdoor sports and activities.

Year 11s have returned from a three-week trip of a lifetime to America.

The group attended a week-long summer camp in Iowa where they took part in many outdoor activities from canoeing to camping and slept in log cabins with eight American young people. Caitlin S said, "The camp was amazing. I tried lots of new things but my favourite activity was Archery."

After the camp the group headed to a water park before taking in the culture of Chicago where they visited Millennium Park, Wrigley Field and all the other major sites.

Ross Brown, Assistant Head Teacher who organised the trip said, "This was a fantastic experience for our students. Participants returned with increased levels of confidence in their ability to be independent and to succeed when faced with new challenges. It was an excellent way to celebrate the end of exams and also to mark the beginning of their Sixth Form life."
