Students heard about the historical evidence and considered who Jack the Ripper might have been.

A group of 34 History students in Years 9, 10 and 11 have recently returned from a crime and punishment themed trip to London as part of their current or future GCSE studies.

During the two-day visit, pupils were lucky enough to visit the London Dungeons and Madame Tussauds, as well as taking part in an evening 'Jack the Ripper Tour'. As part of the tour they were able to see each of the sites where Jack the Ripper committed his gruesome canonical murders; they also heard clues as to who Jack the Ripper might have been and considered theories about why he was never officially identified.

Students who took part in the trip to the capital travelled by train and made their way around London using the Underground network, which was a great experience in itself. As an added bonus, they were also able to squeeze in a couple of hours shopping in Oxford Street. Overall, it was a brilliantly gruesome visit which will live long in the imagination!
