We are proud to be celebrating the success of one of our talented athletes, Year 10 student, Leon D, who recently represented King James I Academy at the National Schools Trampoline Finals. Leon achieved joint 5th place in the prestigious competition, which was held at Gateshead Leisure Centre.

Taking part in the "Elite Under 19 Boys' class meant that Leon was competing against a large number of more mature bouncers with a technical advantage, as they could potentially accumulate additional points due to their higher levels. However, Leon remained calm under pressure and this, combined with his exceptional technique and routines, impressed the judges and placed him in joint 5th position overall out of 21 competitors.

Leon discovered his talent for Trampolining in Year 6 after attending a taster course as part of the Gifted and Talented programme. He has now been competing for around three years and has an impressive collection of trophies to show for his skill and commitment to the sport. We would like to congratulate Leon on his most recent achievement and look forward to supporting him in reaching his future goals.
