Our Best Ever Red Nose Day

March 2017

Cupcakes, donated by staff and parents, were sold by members of our Academy Council.

In terms of fundraising, our students, parents and staff have always shown great enthusiasm for supporting a wide variety of charities. However this year our Red Nose Day activities far exceeded expectations by raising over £1,700!

To kick off the fundraising, students and staff paid £1.00 to dress casual for the day and our supply of red noses sold out in record time, whilst in the Dinner Hall, a selection of wacky cupcakes were a popular treat to buy at both break and lunchtime. Students were also able to commission Miss Howard for one of her well-known face paint designs.

Our Year 7 Nurture Group sold hand painted plant pots, complete with Spring flowers, which had been pre-ordered by both staff and students in the weeks prior to the event, and students also took part in a fun assault course.

Far less enjoyable for Mr Laybourn and Mr Bushy, was a hilarious-to-watch sponsored leg wax, with Mr Bushby thanking his over-enthusiastic PE colleagues, Miss Short and Miss Humble, for his ultra-smooth legs!

Well done to everyone at King James - once again you have proved you are fundraising champions.
