Teachers and students dressed up as characters from some of the most famous books of all time to support the event.

This month we celebrated World Book Day 2017 at our Academy with a variety of activities and some interesting literature-themed characters!

To help promote reading for pleasure, some of our enthusiastic teachers and students spent the day as characters from their favourite books including Bram Stoker's "Dracula', J.K Rowling's "Harry Potter', Ronald Searle's "St. Trinian's', and even The Bible!

Across King James, students enjoyed literacy-themed lesson activities and discussing their favourite stories, past and present, with their teachers. They also received a World Book Day book token, which can be exchanged for one of this year's featured children's books.

Spot prizes of books and Library Reward Points were awarded throughout the day to students who supported our reading initiative and a cupcake sale also raised £58 which will be used to purchase new stock for our library.
