Sixth Form students raised £500 for Macmillan.

Four of our Year 13 BTEC Business Studies students have participated in a walk from King James to Durham to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The walk not only raised £500 for a credible cause but it also contributed to their Business module, "Developing Teams in Business', which aims to highlight how effective team working benefits an organisation. The unit also develops skills and knowledge in participating in team situations both as a team leader and a team member.

Students were given the chance to demonstrate their own team-working abilities and identify their personal strengths, whilst learning how to recognise the skills that could be developed. This particular team activity involved students working together throughout the development of the process, effectively delegating responsibilities to the members of the team, such as risk assessments and itinerary schedules and understanding the logistics behind this process.

We would like to congratulate our students on their achievement and their continued dedication to supporting Macmillan.
