Today we are celebrating the excellent results which our students' dedication and hard work have helped them to achieve. Well done to all of our Year 11 students, and to their teachers.

Students have achieved excellent outcomes across a broad range of subjects and have, in the process, helped our school to achieve a 20% improvement in our headline 5+ A* to C (including English and mathematics) figure. Government figures suggests that students have achieved a Progress 8 figure of +0.26 (2016 is the first year in which this figure will be used for all schools); meaning that, on average, students have achieved over two and half grades more across their counting qualifications, than expected.

As well as excellent results in English and Mathematics, students have also achieved success in many other academic subjects including Geography, Music, Art, Photography, Drama, Product Design, Computing, Science, PE and RE.

Superb results have also been achieved across a range of vocational subjects, including Business, Health & Social Care, Media, Music, Travel and Tourism and Sports Studies.

37% of our Year 11 students have achieved 8 or more A*-C grades, with many of these being achieved at A*/A and Distinction* level.

Particularly impressive results were achieved by Patrick C, Olivia S, Abbie S, Bethany L, Emily H, Romany D and Georgia B who all achieved 6 or more A*/A grades.

Following the success achieved by Sixth Form students last week, it is fitting that so many of our Year 11 students are choosing to move into our Sixth Form. We look forward to welcoming them back and celebrating their continued success in the years to come.

Thank you to all of our parents who have supported their children, and the school, for many years, and to our students; we hope they enjoy a long and successful future in whatever your next steps are, towards your career goal.
