Each year we celebrate World Book Day with a variety of reading and creative writing projects in school. This year the event takes place on Thursday 5th March.

As part of World Book day, students will be able to enter an exciting creative writing competition, which will be launched in assembly, take part in a variety of activities in the library and in English lessons, and they can also look forward to receiving a book token which can be exchanged for one of two books, specially selected for teenagers by the World Book Day Ltd charity. This means that these fantastic books will be completely free of charge to our young readers.

Students can use their book token to claim a copy of either "Killing the Dead' by Marcus Sedgwick or "Geek Girl' by Holly Smale, but tokens must be used on or before Sunday 29th March 2015. Tokens can be exchanged at WH Smith in Bishop Auckland or Tesco in Newton Aycliffe.
