Students show off their UKMT certificates

Once again, we are celebrating the exceptional achievement of our students in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge.

Run by the UK Mathematics Trust, the Maths Challenge is aimed at students in Years 7 and 8, and over 240,000 pupils from across the UK take part each year. Questions are extremely challenging and therefore success rates are low; around 6% of participants achieve Gold certificates, the next 13% Silver and the next 21% Bronze, therefore achieving one of the prestigious awards is to be commended.

In Year 7, Chantal D achieved a Silver Award and was awarded Best in School and Best in Year; Marshall G, who is also in Year 7 achieved a Bronze Award. Year 8 students Brent E and Tim D both achieved a Bronze Award with Tim also achieving Best in Year. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
